E is for Exercise

It's tough.  I've started more things than I care to admit: Curves, Bally's, Richard Simmons, Jane Fonda, Yoga, Step Aerobics, machines, weights, walking, and more.  I went through everything, and nothing would stick.  So far, nothing has.  It early to tell, but I think I'm close to a breakthrough.  I absolutely love playing basketball with my husband.

Except, it's been raining.

My mood is happier since I've exercised two weeks in a row now without stopping.  I crave it, have more energy in the morning, and actually want to do things for work and fun.  Now, that's crazy talk, you say!  Well, everyone in my life who exercises regularly told me that I would start to want to do it if I did it for at least 30 days.  Two weeks later and I do love it.  Yoga and basketball are my main forms right now.

I want to add walking, as I am completing a 5K walk on May 4th.  I need to train a bit and get used to breathing properly.  It was very hard for me last year when I did it, but I want it to be easy this year.  Gotta walk to the park to play basketball. That will do it!

Here's my favorite yoga DVD, and that's Jillian Michaels.  It's hard, but worth it.  Do it!

  1. Not crazy talk at all. I found the same thing when exercise became a regular part of my day. I now actually miss it when I don't get to do it. Good luck with the walk and the A to Z Challenge!

  2. It sounds like you are on the right track. I've heard some of the keys to success are to find something you really enjoy doing and to have an exercise buddy.

    Good luck!

  3. I feel your pain... I really do. I had the same problem for years. It was only last year (when I was 36!) that I finally found a form of exercise that I love doing, and the main reason is because I get to do it with my husband. I'm talking about cycling (!). I wrote about it for C day!
